During the sailing of oceangoing vessels, sludge, oil residue and oily water are generated. Because the sludge contains water, crew need evaporate the water of the sludge before burning it. Moreover, the burning process not only increases crew’s workload, but also requires diesel oil consuming, resulting in certain diesel oil losses and increasing the shipowners’ operating costs.
